Responsibilities:
Alta Equipment Company is seeking a full-time Shop Manager for our Material Handling group at our Montgomery, IL location.
The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:
Supervise the operation of the shop in the Montgomery branchFoster a positive customer and employee relations atmosphereCoordinate cartage for internal and external customers.
Review & analyze department data meet sales and profit goalsMonitor work in progressMonitor employee training progressResponsible for condition of facilityIncorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
4-6 years of previous supervisory experience preferredGeneral knowledge of electric and liquid propane fork lift unitsGood mechanical aptitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood customer relations and people skillsAbility to successfully manage othersComputer Skills - Epicor/Silk Systems, Hyster/Yale Contact Management, Sage Quest, Crystal Reports, PayTrace, Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookLanguage Skills - Intermediate:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability - High:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical Skills - Intermediate:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Physical/Sensory Functions:
Regularly will talk/hear; Frequently will stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms; Occasionally will walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
