The Recreation Supervisor - Athletics reports to the Director of Recreation.
Responsibilities include the recruitment and training of staff; development and management of high quality, competitive, and recreational athletic programs designed for children and adults.
Education, Experience, & Training:
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or equivalent experience Background or experience in the area of athletics 1-3 years of Program Coordination/Supervision Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Facilitate the administration, supervision, planning, personnel, and operation of the District's athletics programming Manage personnel administration Communicate with, but not limited to, staff, volunteers, participants, and parents Maximize the effective use of facilities, parks, and athletic fields for programs and activities Develop relationships with individuals, groups, businesses, and agencies, within the community and profession, including local and regional sports groups and affiliates Develop and implement ongoing analysis and evaluation of programs and services Develop annual budget for the program areas supervised Perform other duties as assigned Physical Demands:
The employee is working in an environment that often times has a high level of noise The employee will be working both indoors and outdoors The employee will be working in both hot and cold weather conditions The employee is working in a shared office space, appropriate social skills and ability to operate with flexibility and cooperation in work stations, shared office equipment and supplies While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, bend, lift, jump, turn, and talk.
The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, kneel, reach and carry.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential responsibilities of this job Hours:
40 hours a week.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays are required.
